(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured in an accident at the intersection of James Avenue and 16th Street, Friday night.
According to a Bedford Police report, 32-year-old Marty Speer was traveling north on James Avenue and 57-year-old Edward Stotts was traveling south on James Avenue and was attempting to turn into a private drive.
Speer told police Stotts started to turn into his lane of travel and could not get stopped.
Stotts told police that he looked up and all he saw was head lights and slammed on his brakes.
A witness to the accident told police that Stotts was attempting to make a left hand turn and pulled into Speer's path of travel. A second witness told police that Speer turned off 16th Street onto James Avenue and hit the gas causing him to lose control of his 1992 Honda Civic and then hit Stotts' 2002 Ford LX.
Police say the angle of the crash is what seems to cause the damage, but the damage did not seem to be consistent with either vehicle speeding.
Both drivers suffered minor pain. Speer complained of back pain and Stotts complained of neck pain.
