(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he crashed his car in the 7200 block of Ind. 450 Sunday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 30-year-old Benjamin Crane was traveling north on Ind. 450 about a half a mile west of Fayetteville Williams Road when he drove his 2005 Pontiac Grand Am off the east side of the road and struck a state highway sign and fence.
Crane left the scene and ran off the road again into a ditch.
Police say it was dark and raining at the time of the accident at 6:03 a.m. Crane told police he believes he fell asleep while driving.
Police arrested Crane for operating a vehicle endangerment, OWI with a prior conviction and OWI under a controlled substance.
