(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police were called to West 11th and North Rogers streets at 2:17 a.m. Saturday.
Bloomington police stopped 37-year-old Michael Flynn's vehicle for a moving violation.
As police were conducting a field sobriety test, Flynn fled on foot.
Multiple officers chased Flynn and, after a short foot pursuit, officers caught him.
According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Lucas Tate, Flynn continued to fight and injured one of the officers.
After his arrest, officers searched Flynn's vehicle and found a container with marijuana and a pipe to smoke the drug.
Flynn, of 1619 W. Gray St., is facing preliminary charges of battery of a police officer, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Flynn was taken to the Monroe County Jail at 5:05 a.m. and is being held on a $2,000 surety, $500 cash bond.
