(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police were called to a home in the 2600 block of East Third Street Tuesday after a 25-year-old man and three of his friends reported they found a man they suspected of stealing three weapons - a long-gun, a semi-automatic rifle and a .45-caliber handgun.
The man told police his home in western Monroe County had been burglarized on Sunday. Since that time he and his friends believed they knew the suspect and had followed and watched him over the last couple of days.
On Tuesday night they found the man they believed who took the weapons at a hotel room and called police after they saw the guns lying on the bed.
Police arrived and arrested 30-year-old Daniel McLean of Bloomington on charges of burglary. McLean admitted to taking the weapons and told police he planned to sell them.
