(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter recently recognized Evidence Clerk Vera Gardner, of Monroe County, for her 20 years of service with the department.
Lt. Paul Bucher, Commander of the Bloomington Post presented the award. Originally from Middletown, Gardner is a 1981 graduate of Shenandoah High School. She started her ISP career as a Data Input Operator in April 1994. In October of 1997 she was promoted to Secretary and then promoted again to Evidence Clerk in September of 2004.
Vera's husband Tony retired after 34 years with the Indiana State Police, serving as a supervisor for the Bloomington District Radio Dispatch Center. Their son, Robert is a Detective and a 17 year veteran with the Indiana State Police at the Jasper Post.
