(MARTINSVILLE) - The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has approved Indianapolis Power and Light Company’s certificate of necessity to build the new Eagle Valley CCGT plant. Its construction could begin as early as July.
IPL announced in late April 2013 its intent to build the new plant, five miles north of Martinsville.
The new combined cycle-gas turbine power plant will replace an existing 341 megawatt coal-fired facility that is adjacent to where the new one will be built.
