(GREENE CO.) - A Loogootee man was arrested after he fled from police.
At 5:40 p.m. a deputy from the Greene County Sheriff's Office was attempting to stop a white 2014 Chevrolet passenger car on State Road 157 near Bloomfield to investigate a reported road rage incident.
The white Chevrolet failed to stop for the deputy and a pursuit began.
Off-duty Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun was in the area and attempted to assist the deputy. The suspect's vehicle veered into Trooper Klun's 2013 Dodge Charger around 5:41 p.m., ending the pursuit on Ind. 157 near Bloomfield.
Klun is a three year veteran of the ISP. No injuries were reported.
The driver, 31-year-old James Wallisa of Loogootee, was arrested and taken to the Greene County jail on charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon (the vehicle), reckless driving and possession of drug precursors.
Assisting were ISP Master Trooper Eric Russell and Probationary Trooper Riley Nungester and the Greene County Sheriff's Department deputies.
