Last updated on Wednesday, May 21, 2014

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after his motorcycle crashed into a vehicle at the intersection of 11th and Q Streets Tuesday night.

According to a Bedford police report, 36-year-old Destiny Parton was traveling north on Q Street and 22-year-old Michael Jines was traveling east on 11th Street when the accident happened at 5:02 p.m.

According to police Parton has stopped at the yield sign and then proceeded through the intersection when all of a sudden her 1997 Ford Expendition was struck by a black motorcycle driven by Jines.

Jines was unable to give police a statement on what happened.

A witness told police that he was at his home in the 1600 block of 11th Street and heard the motorcycle "ram its motor." The witness told police they knew Jines and that he was always speeding up and down the road on the motorcycle or in a go-cart.

Another witness, who was in her front yard, told police she saw Parton stop at the yield sign and then proceed through the intersection and that the motorcycle come out of nowhere at a high-rate of speed. She told police there was nothing Parton could do to avoid the accident.

Police say Jines does not have a valid license and the motorcycle was not registered as an on-road vehicle.

Officers are familiar with Jines and complaints of him driving off-road vehicles at a high-rate of speed up and down the road.

Jines was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered injuries to his entire body and possible fractures and dislocations.
