(MITCHELL) - Dozens of students at Mitchell High School answered a challenged issued by students from Washington High School in Pekin.
Dozens of students were doused with hundreds of gallons of cold water courtesy of the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department.
Students paid $5 each to get doused, and $1 each to watch. The event happened during seventh period Friday. Firefighters used water cannons to drench the students.
MHS raised about $1,000. The money will be given to the family of 7-year-old Zachary Bottorff of Salem, who was diagnosed on April 27th with an inoperable brain tumor.
