(SEYMOUR) - A 45-year-old rural Seymour man sustained burns to his left arm and head during a fire that started in his barn Wednesday afternoon while he was working on his truck.
Aaron W. Hankins of Redding Township was treated by medical personnel with Jackson County Emergency Medical Services before being taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
According to Officer Jeff Walters with Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Hankins walked away from the fire to property at Lawyer Excavating & Crane on the east side of U.S. 31 to wait for emergency personnel to arrive,
Hankins' house is on the west side of U.S. 31 on 2.71 acres, according to county records.
