(ST. ANTHONY) - The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says a Birdseye teen is lucky to be alive after her car overturned in a water filled ditch.
16-year-old Rachel Hopf was northbound on Club Road near Saint Anthony last night when her car hydroplaned, ran off the road, and overturned in a water filled ditch.
Hopf escaped serious injury, was able to get out of the vehicle, and walk to a neighbor's home.
Police say motorists need to use caution when driving on flooded roadways or when there are heavy rains.
