(BLOOMFIELD) - Tamera Crosley, the wife of convicted murderer Randal Crosley, is going to have to tell the truth to get a deal under the terms of a negotiated plea agreement, and she will be required to take a polygraph test to verify her story.
Tamera Crosley was charged in one criminal case with a felony of conspiracy to commit theft and in the June 2013 murder case of Katelyn Wolfe, Tamera was charged with a felony count of obstruction of justice, plus two counts of false informing.
Crosley, who is represented by public defender David Hunter, signed a negotiated plea agreement which says she will plead guilty to conspiracy to commit theft in the first case and false informing in the second case. The other two counts would then be dismissed.
If accepted by the court, she will have to pay a $35 fine plus court costs, and on each of the two counts she will be sentenced to six months in the Greene County Jail with all but six days suspended. The two sentences are to be served consecutively, one after the other. She will also be on probation for 359 days.
But, there's another requirement in the agreement. Crosley must provide a truthful account of her involvement in the recovery efforts of Katelyn Wolfe and pass a polygraph examination verifying her story.
Crosley is scheduled to be sentenced on June 6, the one-year anniversary of the day Katelyn Wolfe was murdered and reported missing.
Crosley's husband, Randal Crosley, and Jordan Buskirk have since been convicted of Wolfe's murder and are now serving time in prison.
In the days following Wolfe's disappearance and murder, Tamera Crosley was questioned more than once by Linton police and she gave different statements each time about the murder. Police believe she mislead officers in an attempt to cover up her husband's involvement in the murder.
She was also accused of destroying evidence in the Crosley home, specifically drugs.
She also lied to police about knowing her husband's involvement in drugs. Officers then learned through phone records, phone date and interviews that Tamera was aware of and involved in her husband's illegal drug activities.
In the theft case, Tamera Crosley was accused of being involved in an attempted to steal items from the Walmart store in Linton. The plot was allegedly to steal the items then return them for cash that would then be deposited in Randal Crosley's jail account.
The plot was foiled by an off-duty Greene County Sheriff's detective who just happened to be in the store at the time and saw a young person attempting to conceal baby items. When the detective approached and identified himself, the juvenile gave him a sob story and the detective ended up taking the juvenile through the checkout and paying for the items, and then he gave the juvenile a $20 bill thinking he was helping a family in a bad financial situation.
A short time later, the detective saw another person attempting to return the same items he had just purchased. The detective called Linton Police who found Tamera Crosley waiting in a car for the other two suspects.
