(BEDFORD) - Bedford police arrested two men after they were called to a fight at Shorty’s Den 3:28 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, an officer was on patrol when he noticed the fight behind the bar.
When officers arrived and yelled at those fighting to stop, they took off running.
Officers recognized one of the men, so they chased the other.
"They located him at Stone City Products, ordered him to stop or he would be tased," Parsley says. "He refused so he was tased."
Officers arrested 29-year-old Timothy Strickland, who was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in Daviess County, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting arrest by fleeing.
"He was checked out by medical personnel and then taken to jail," Parsley added.
Officers then located 29-year-old Tracy Gist not far from the bar and he was arrested.
GIst told police he was homeless and is now facing charges of resisting arrest by fleeing, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
