(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Superior Court judge Michael Robbins is giving 30-year-old James Ingram three months to prove he has changed.
Ingram, of Springville, was baptized Tuesday, the night before he was to be sentenced on meth charges.
Robbins told Ingram he will continue to be on electronic monitoring, he must graduate an intensive outpatient program CenterStone, continue to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings and provide the court with the number of meetings he has attended, plus follow and complete numerous other stipulations.
Robbins sternly informed Ingram who has four pages of criminal history, that as judge, he has a duty to perform and that is protecting the community from people like him - a duty Robbins takes very seriously. Ingram will appear in court again in September.
