(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after another vehicle crashed into the rear of his 2006 Ford Mustang Wednesday morning at the intersection of Ind. 37 and 16th Street.
According to a Bedford Police report, 43-year-old Mike Deckard was stopped in the southbound turn lane of Ind. 37 south at the traffic light waiting to turn left onto 16th Street when his car was struck in the rear by a 2008 Subaru driven by 31-year-old Suzanne Hatfield of Bloomington.
Hatfield told police she became distracted by some coffee grounds in her mouth while drinking her coffee and when she looked back at the road and saw Deckard's car she applied her brakes by her vehicle slid on the wet roadway and struck the vehicle in the rear.
Deckard complained of back pain, but refused medical treatment. Hatfield was not injured.
