(LYONS) - As part of an Eagle Scout project, Jarrett Helderman organized and led a team of helpers to refurbish the playground equipment in Lyons Park.
Helderman says the equipment was in poor condition and thought why not fix it up and paint it. Helderman, who is a member of Lyons Boys Scout Troop 401, along with five volunteers, painted the equipment in White River Valley School colors, navy, silver and white.
16-year-old Helderman, is the son of Robert and Linda Helderman and has been a scout since he was in the sixth grade. His father is the scout master for his troop.
He is a student at White River High School and after graduation he would like to go into law enforcement or the Air Force.
