French Lick Man Injured After Sedan Flips

(LOOGOOTEE) - A French Lick man was critically injured Saturday morning in a single vehicle crash on US 50 near Loogootee.

66-year-old Terry Walker was traveling west on U.S. 50 East of Dover Hill Road when for an unknown reason he traveled left of center, overcorrected, went into the ditch line on the north side of the road where his 2014 Toyota sedan rolled multiple times.

Walker, who suffered 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung, was taken to was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Jasper and later transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville. Walker's Toyota was a total loss.

Walker was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Indiana State Police wants to remind motorists that wearing a seatbelt can greatly reduce or prevent injuries sustained in an automobile crash.

ISP was assisted on scene by the Martin County Sheriff's Department, Martin County Fire Department, and EMS.
