Jackson County Teen Stabbed After Finding Man In Garage

Last updated on Tuesday, June 17, 2014

(SEYMOUR) - Jackson County police continue to investigate a report of a teen being stabbed with a pocketknife early Monday at his Seymour home.

The Tribune reports that no arrest has been made in connection with the attack that left Seymour High School Senior Isaiah Thomas with four stab wounds.

The scuffle also left the 17-year-old with at least five scrape wounds from fending off his attacker in the garage of his home in a subdivision off U.S. 31, southeast of city limits.

Thomas' mother, Tamara K. Bailey, reported the incident at 2:12 a.m. at her home in the 1100 block of Mockingbird Lane.

Thomas told police he heard a noise in the garage and went to check it out and found a man with gray facial hair wearing a blue sweater. The man then pulled a pocketknife.

Thomas and the man then wrestled for a brief time and, during the altercation, Thomas was stabbed and the man fled the scene.

Thomas has since been treated and released from the hospital.
