(BLOOMINGTON) - A 17-year-old who tried to rob Bloomington’s Cresent Donut store Thursday morning got a surprise when the 5-foot-tall female clerk said she had pepper spray and ordered him to leave the establishment.
Customers who realized what was going on began yelling at the youth, who fled with no cash. He left the area on a scooter, and was quickly apprehended by police nearby at the corner of Second Street and Patterson Drive.
Two witnesses identified him, and his image also was captured on a store surveillance camera.
