(BEDFORD) - Bertha’s Mission, the community kitchen that serves free meals three days a week, got some fundraising help last weekend from its fledgling youth board.
Several teens, all students or recent graduates of Bedford North Lawrence High School, spent last Friday and Saturday pricing donated items and organizing them to sell for a Bertha's Mission yard sale last Saturday in the parking lot of Kat's Performing Arts on Lincoln Avenue.
Helping were BNL Senior and board member Caroline Kinderthain, Jane Kittaka, a Bertha's Mission volunteer who formed the board, BNL students Kirstin Clephane, Rachel Newsome and Dominick Jean.
The group also wanted to thank studio owner Kathy Thompson, who let the group use her lot for the sale.
By the end of the sale, the group raised $310.45.
