(BEDFORD) - Several projects are being accomplished by crews of the Bedford Parks Department.
New Director of Parks Barry Jeskewich says the repaving at Thornton Park parking lot has been completed.
A warranty claim was submitted on the slide at John Lowery Pool. The new paint is showing signs of blistering.
Rainy weather forced a delay in the installation of new fencing at Wilson Park, but now crews are installing the fencing.
Invasive vegetation was on a new soccer field at Otis Park. Jeskewich say he had met with Orbit Soccer officials to devise a plan to meet their needs until the fields at Otis are available. Temporary practice fields are being made available at Murray Forest Park behind the fire tower.
The Park board also voted to authorize Jeskewich and Aaron Harrell, Otis golf manager, to lower the fee for Sunday's Couples League if they deemed it appropriate. Jeskewich says he and Harrell would review the fee, then report their decision to the board.
