(JACKSON CO.) - A 9-year-old Brownstown boy is asking for help finding his race car that someone stole.
It was stolen from the Mini Indy Speedway at the State Fairgrounds on July 1.
"When I found out I was really mad, pretty sad," said Bryan Brewer.
The 4th grader has been racing for three years.
"It's tough to see your kids in pain," said J.L Brewer, Bryan's dad. "He didn't understand why they wanted to take his stuff, and wanted to know why and I didn't have any answers for him," Brewer said.
Bryan had a 2004 Stanley Quarter Midget. His father says it was stolen along with his helmet and other gear out of a locked trailer.
"The folks knew what they were after, they knew they wanted a race car and they got one," said Brewer
The Central Indiana Quarter Midget Association, a racing league, is helping the Brewers find the car, and those responsible.
Indiana State Police, which patrols the Fairgrounds, say they are investigating.
The elder Brewer, who got Bryan involved in racing, says he is also looking for the culprits.
"There hasn't been a day that I've stopped looking for it, and I'll continue to look for it until I find it; at some point I'll find that car," said Brewer.
