(BEDFORD) - It isn’t a boom for the town of Bedford, Indiana, but General Motors is looking at a 27-million dollar investment in equipment, so they can produce aluminum engine blocks.
The investment will create 42 jobs, bringing the total number of GM workers in Beford to 656.
The automaker is taking advantage of a nearly 2-million dollar tax abatement from the Bedford Economic Development Commission, but the plan has yet to pass city council.
If the project gets the final green light from council, the expansion should be finished by March of 2016.
