(GREENE CO.) - Greene County General Hospital is now offering patients an additional payment option with online bill pay.
Patients may now make payments in the Business Office, at Registration and online.
The Greene County Daily World reports, by utilizing TruBridge, a secure online bill pay program, patients now have an easy, convenient and secure means of accessing the online bill pay site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This offers patients the ability to make credit or debit card payments in real time. The system can process individual payments as well as payment in full on outstanding balances. The service has an integrated feature that automatically posts payments to patient's accounts.
"In addition to online bill payments, we can also set up payments that will automatically withdraw funds from a patient's savings or checking account. The patient must call the business office at (812) 847-5208 to arrange this as the option is not available in the Patient Portal," said Greene County General Hospital Chief Financial Officer April Settles. "We can also set up recurring payments with their credit cards under an approved payment plan once the patient has signed an authorization agreement. Again, this can't be performed online yet but can be accomplished by calling the business office."
Accounts that are currently in collections, Settles said, will not show up as owed in the Patient Portal.
To access the online bill pay program, patients need to set up a Patient Portal account. Accounts can be set up through the hospital's medical records department, which is located on the facility's ground level.
Online bill pay is just one facet of Greene County General Hospital's Patient Portal.
In compliance with the federal government's Meaningful Use Initiative, all hospitals will soon be required to provide patients (and/or a patient-authorized user) access to their patient record electronically.
Greene County General Hospital's Patient Portal, which was launched in early 2014, allows patients access to their clinical summary information following discharge.
This access provides patients with information, including but not limited to, procedures completed, medical history, medications taken, allergies, existing or developing medical conditions, etc. You can also virtually download your confidential medical record to your own private computer for your records.
