(MARCO) - A Jasonville man suffered serious injuries after he crashed the Freightliner dump truck he was driving Tuesday morning on State Road 67.
Shortly before 10 a.m. Indiana State troopers, and officers from the yons and the Greene County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash.
According to police, 41-year-old Scott Huddleston, was travelling southwest on State Road 67 near Marco, driving a 2000 Freightliner dump truck loaded with coal when for an unknown reason, he drove off the highway into a field before striking the embankment of a deep ditch.
During the crash, part of the load was spilled.
Huddleston was treated on the scene by emergency personnel from the Greene County Ambulance Service along with the Sandborn and Linton Fire Departments. Huddleston, who suffered head, neck and other injuries, was then flown by helicopter to a hospital in Indianapolis.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management was contacted due to fuel spillage from the truck.
