(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County has received a grant for $175,000 from the Indiana Judicial Center to help courts with substance abuse problems.
Superior Court II Judge William Sleva told the county council the money is intended for drug and alcohol programs and problem-solving courts, like drug court that Sleva oversees.
Sleva says Lawrence County was one of 12 counties chosen to receive a share of the $2 million grant from the Indiana Legislature.
The county has already received about $30,000 so far.
For 2015, the grant money will be built into the county budget.
