(SWITZ CITY) - Lexi Place was crowned Miss Greene County 2014 Sunday night.
17-year-old Place is the daughter of Lori and Andrew Graves and Bryan Place and is entering her senior year at Bloomfield High School. After graduation, she plans to attend college and major in chemistry with the goal of becoming a physician.
19-year-old Nicole Mattox, the daughter of Amanda and Steve Mattox of Jasonville, was chosen as 1st Runner-up as well as Miss Congeniality. She's a graduate of Shakamak High School and is entering her sophomore year at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology where she is majoring in computer engineering with a minor in computer sciences/software engineering and robotics. She's a 10-year 4-H member.
Second-runner up honors went to 17-year-old Jocelyn Gadberry,, of Bloomfield. The daughter of Stephanie and Todd Gadberry, she's a nine-year member of 4-H. She's entering her senior year at Bloomfield High School. After high school, Gadberry plans to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
Other contestants included Rylie Mayfield and Jesse McDonald.
Mayfield, is entering her junior year at Linton-Stockton High School. She's the 17-year-old daughter of Rebecca and DeWayne Mayfield of Linton. She's an eight-year 4-H member. In addition, she's the sole owner of Mayfield's Mutts and More where she designs and creates animals from clay.
McDonald, 18 of Lyons, is the daughter of Russell and Michaele McDonald. She's a recent graduate of White River Valley High School and will attend Purdue University in the fall to study medical laboratory science. She's an eight-year member of 4-H.
