(BEDFORD) - A Seymour man was flown to Methodist Hospital after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle at the JayC Plus gas station on 16th Street Tuesday.
According to a Bedford Police report, 55-year-old Bradley W. Lucas of Seymour, who is an employee of JayC Plus, suffered incapacitating internal injuries.
Police say that 34-year-old Marcy R. Tincher of Williams was driving a 2007 GMC in the JayC Plus lot and didn't see Lucas on his knees at the gas tank cover north of the fuel pumps.
Lucas was performing a regular task at the underground tank after fuel is added to the tanks when he was struck.
Tincher was pulling into the gas station to get fuel and struck Lucas.
Police say witnesses helped to get Lucas out from underneath the vehicle.
An Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital ambulance and Bedford Fire Department rescue workers assisted. Air Evac helicopter responded and flew Lucas to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
