(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested early Saturday morning after he resisted Lawrence County police officers and held a woman against her will.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, officers went to a home on Dale Street Friday at 11:37 p.m. to arrest 42-year-old Adam England on a warrant for petition to revoke probation. However no one would answer the door.
Police returned at 2:05 a.m. Saturday morning. A woman answered the door and told police England was inside and let officers enter. The woman, who is England's girlfriend, told police that England had held her against her well earlier when officer first came to the home and threatened her with a weapon if she answered the door.
Officers found England asleep. When officers woke England to arrest him he became combative with officers.
England was arrested on the warrant and now faces additional charges of resisting arrest by force and criminal confinement with a deadly weapon.
