(MITCHELL) - Mitchell City officials are all for Bedford resident Natasha Johns to build a 9,000-square-foot building behind the Mitchell Professional Building that would provide indoor activity for children.
The Times-Mail reports that Johns operates Celebrations of Southern Indiana, which rents and delivers inflatable bounce houses and other party supplies, games and concession equipment.
Her goal is to offer safe, fun indoor activities for children that will include a rock-climbing wall, large trampolines and bounce houses at an affordable price.
Johns attempted to open her new business in Bedford, but twice city officials voted down her request. That is when officials with Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living contacted her about locating her business at the former Carpenter offices off Main Street near Four Points. The space available wouldn't work, but there was land available to build a facility.
Johns will now work with Building Commissioner Danny Baker to secure the necessary building permits for the project.
