(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Highway Department will close South I Street, from the bridge south of Bedford to the four-way stop at Vinegar Hill Road from 7 a.m. today until 5 p.m. for repaving.
No through traffic will be allowed.
Mount Pleasant Road from State Road 58 to the bridge, approximately 1.3 miles will be closed on Tuesday from 7 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m. the schedule will be change in case of inclement weather.
Motorists traveling U.S. 50 between Bedford and Brownstown during the next four weeks can expect delays due to a $588,531 pavement repair project set to begin today.
Dave O'Mara Contractor Inc., the state's contractor, will have flaggers present at work sites along the 15.72-mile stretch of highway to direct single-lane traffic around its workers and equipment.
The project will begin on the west side of the bridge that carries U.S. 50 over the CSX railroad on Brownstown's west side and ends at State Road 446.
