BROWNSTOWN, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Transportation has scheduled pavement repairs along U.S. Highway 50 between State Road 446 east of Bedford in Lawrence County to the CSX Railroad bridge on the west side of Brownstown in Jackson County.
Operations begin Monday morning (JULY 7)--weather permitting.
Dave O'Mara, the state's contractor for this $588,513 Seymour District pavement project, will have flaggers present at worksites to direct single-lane traffic around its crews and equipment.
INDOT anticipates the project will require four weeks for asphalt patching on this 16-mile section of U.S. 50 to be completed.
A chip seal application placed by INDOT maintenance personnel is slated for later this summer. When finished, the east-west roadway will have a rumble strip centerline for added safety.
