(GREENE CO.) - Two people were injured in a head-on collision Monday morning State Road 45 in eastern Greene County.
The accident closed the highway for several hours.
33-year-old Melissa Wood of Indianapolis is facing charges for driving while suspended and driving left of the center line.
According to a Greene County Sheriff's Department police report, Wood was driving a 2002 Hyundai southbound on the highway and had been drifting left to right and had left the highway on the west side. Wood then over-corrected which caused her car to go left of center and collide with a 2009 Ford Explorer driven by Matthew J. Brendel of Evansville.
Brendel suffered a chip fracture to his lower back. Wood suffered a broken rib. Both were taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
