(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man suffered a laceration over his eye after he was traveling too fast and crashed into a tree Saturday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, officers were notified about the crash at 4:45 p.m. Saturday after 20-year-old Christian Pickard was being treated at IU Health Hospital. Pickard was taken to the hospital by his mother.
One officer went to the hospital to speak to Prickard, while another went to the crash site on U.S. 50 East.
According to police, Pickard was traveling west on U.S. 50 East and was approaching a curve when he failed to make the turn and went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Pickard told police he was traveling too fast when he entered the curve and lost control of his 2004 Hyundai Tiburon.
