(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after she was caught by the manager at Dollar General Store stuffing items in her purse.
Bedford Police were called to the store on X Street at 2:36 p.m. after the manager noticed 48-year-old Rachel Frazier stuffing items into her pink purse.
Officers arrived to find Frazier getting into her vehicle, with the manager attempting to stop her.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers blocked in Frazier's vehicle preventing her from leaving and witnessed Frazier stuff something under the front seat.
The manager told police she witnessed Frazier stuff several items into her purse and that Frazier had left the store without paying for those items.
Officers found those stolen items in Frazier's purse and also located a package of Bic lighters stuffed under the seat. During their search for stolen items, officers also found a baggie that contained marijuana and a Alprazolam (Xanax) pill.
Frazier, of 1217 9th St., was arrested and charged with theft, possession of marijuana and a schedule IV controlled substance.
