(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington police officer who was assisting a man he found passed out and covered in vomit and passed out on a sidewalk Monday night at West Countryside Lane and South Cutter Court.
As the officer assisted the man, the officer ended up getting punched in the face and scratched.
Police arrested 24-year-old Derrick Wayne Crone on charges of battery, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Before going to jail he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
Crone is being held on a $5,500 bond.
