(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County commissioners accept the resignation of Highway Superintendent Brent Murray.
The commissioners agreed to allow Linton resident Roger Hamilton to fill the highway superintendent position until the first of next year.
Murray's resignation is effective as of Friday. He has been superintendent for a little over three-and-a-half years.
The Greene County Daily World reports, Commissioner President Rick Graves read Murray's resignation letter, which stated, in part:
"I've enjoyed working here and working with all of you, and appreciate all of that work. I wish you and the highway department all the best going forward."
All three current county road bosses agreed to step up to fill Murray's position for as long as necessary, but that none of the three wanted to accept the position permanently.
