(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he allegedly threw a cell phone at a woman hitting her in the chest.
Bedford Police officers were called to the 1100 block of 24th Street at 11:55 a.m. Sunday after a verbal fight turned physical.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, when police arrived they found 34-year-old Christopher Hutton standing in the driveway and a woman and her two sons ages 5 and 2-years-old standing under the carport.
"The couple were exchanging the children for visitation when they got into it," Parsley says. "She alleges Mr. Hutton threw a cell phone at her striking her in the chest, which caused pain. The woman filed a battery affidavit and Mr. Hutton was taken to jail."
Hutton was arrested on a charge of battery in the presence of a minor under the age of 16 years old.
