Man Sentenced To Prison After Molesting Seymour Teen

(BROWNSTOWN) - A Warrick County man, accused of sexual misconduct involving a Jackson County teen in 2012, has been ordered to spend the next seven years and eight months in prison.

64-year-old David Wakeman of Chandler received that sentence during a July 9 hearing in front of Senior Judge William Vance. None of the time was suspended.

The Seymour Tribune reports, Wakeman pleaded guilty April 2 to a Class C felony charge of sexual misconduct with a minor,

Wakeman, who will have to register as a sex offender, received 232 days credit and 232 days credit time for his time already spent in jail.

According to police Wakeman had stayed with the girl for a couple of weeks in Seymour. The girl told her mother that Wakeman had molested her.

Police worked with the Warrick County Sheriff's Department to locate Wakeman and arrest him.
