(COLUMBUS) - A Brown County woman was arrested on heroin charges.
On Friday, Columbus Police responded to the 3500 block of Nicholas Lane in regards to a possible overdose. When they arrived, officers found a 21-year-old man unresponsive and with no pulse. Paramedics arrived at the scene and moments later and were able to revive the man. His identity has not been released.
Columbus Police Department Spokesman Sgt. Matt Harris says that officers determined that 20-year-old Kayla M. Dilk of Nashville was an acquaintance of the man who had overdosed.
Dilk allegedly told officers that she removed the heroin and paraphernalia that her friend had used and hid them away.
Police found the drugs and paraphernalia a short time later.
Dilk, who advised that she was pregnant, allegedly stated to officers that she also had used the heroin that her friend had overdosed on. Dilk was treated at Columbus Regional Health.
She was then booked in the Bartholomew County Jail on charges of possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, false informing, criminal recklessness and possession of legend drug Injection device. She was released after posting a $7,500 bond.
