(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after a head-on collision on U.S. 50 East Monday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 28-year-old Timothypal Gothra of Medora was traveling westbound on U.S. 50 and was behind a semi-tractor trailer and thought he was in a passing zone. Gothra pulled into eastbound lane to pass when he noticed a 1994 Chevrolet Lumina.
Gothra then attempted to pull back behind the semi but couldn't and collided with the Lumina head-on.
The driver of the Lumina, 46-year-old Matthew Jacobs of Bedford, told police he saw Gothra's 2007 Saturn coming at him, but he had no where to go to avoid the crash.
Gothra was not injured, but Jacobs complained of head pain following the incident.
Assisting at the scene were Pleasant Run, Shawswick and Guthrie VFDs and an IU Health Hospital ambulance.
