(ORANGE CO.) - The Orange County Community Foundation Youth Council (OCCFYC) has begun accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year.
The Youth Council is open to all Orange County students in grades 8-12. Interested students should ask their school office for applications or visit the OCCF website at www.orangecountycommunityfoundation.org.
The Youth Council works to empower the youth of the Orange County community by helping them better understand the philanthropic process through the fundamentals of giving.
The students will practice community outreach firsthand through volunteering, fundraising, grant-making and a variety of local projects. Members will also have the opportunity to go to their respective schools and help teach these values of philanthropy to the fourth-grade classes.
All application materials must be completed and returned to the OCCF office or a Youth Council mentor no later than Friday, Aug. 29 by 4 p.m.
Questions about the Youth Council should be addressed to OCCF Communications and Program Associate Kelsey Roach at 812-723-4150 or via email at kelseyr@orangecountycommunityfoundation.org.
