(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Police are investigating an early morning burglary at Farmer’s Market at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Ind. 446.
Officers were called to the service station at 1:25 a.m. after a burglary alarm sounded and alerted the owners of a possible break in.
According to Sheriff Sam Craig, when officers arrived they found a window on the northeast side of the business had been busted.
"That is how they gained entry," Craig added. "As of right now we know they took cigarettes. The owners are doing a complete inventory this morning and we will know more after that is completed."
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff's Department.
Farmer's Market will be open today for business.
