(UNDATED) - Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller reminds you that if you receive a phone call from anyone offering something that sounds too good to be true … it probably is.
Zoeller says senior citizens especially need to be cautious since they are the most likely targets of scammers and are most likely to answer the phone.
He says scammers will promise to pay off debts or send a large sum of money if you give them access to your bank account.
He says the answer is simple ... hang up immediately.
You can report telephone scams to the Attorney General's Office by filing a consumer complaint online at indianaconsumer.com or by calling 1-888-834-9969.
