(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police were called to investigate shots fired in the parking lot of Country View Apartments located in the 2500 block of South Rockport Road at 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
Witnesses told police they saw a dark, silver vehicle leaving the parking lot after shots were heard. A patrolman stopped a gray, four-door Pontiac north of the apartment complex.
Officers questioned the driver identified as Alexis Johnson and passengers Ronnie Burrus and Kyombe Bolden.
All three told police they heard the shots, but did not know anything about the incident.
When asked if there were drugs in the vehicle, Burrus allegedly told police he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket and Johnson admitted to having a bag of marijuana under her shirt.
Officers also found a Gock with a magazine under the driver's seat. Police don't believe that weapon had been recently fired.
Burrus and Bolden were both arrested on preliminary charges of visiting a common nuisance, while Johnson was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance.
Johnson is also facing charges of carrying a handgun without a permit. Burrus and Johnson are also facing charges of dealing synthetic cannabinoid.
The three were taken to the Monroe County Jail.
Then at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Bloomington Police received a call from Taiveon Taylor, who told the dispatcher that police were probably looking for him.
Taylor's name was reportedly mentioned during questioning of three individuals during Saturday's arrest.
Police went the 2400 block of Winslow Court and found three men walking in the parking lot. One of those men, Taylor, took off running when he saw police.
While fleeing, Taylor who was carrying a brown case threw it under a car.
Taylor eventually stopped.
Police recovered the case, which contained a 22-caliber handgun and unloaded magazine.
Taylor refused to cooperate with police or answer any questions.
He then told police to take him to jail.
Taylor was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm without a permit and resisting law enforcement by fleeing.
Police are still investigating who fired the shots.
