(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of J and Fifth streets Wednesday at 5:11 p.m.
According to a Bedford Police report, 47-year-old Angela Johnson was traveling east on Fifth Street and was approaching J Street when a 2007 Subaru Impreza pulled into the path of her 2011 Toyota Camry. The impact caused Johnson's vehicle to be pushed into a fire hydrant on the northwest side of the road.
Johnson told police that the vehicle that hit her was traveling north on J Street, which is the wrong way on the one-way street and there was nothing she could do to avoid the collision.
50-year-old Scott Hewitt of Bloomfield, who was traveling north on J Street, told police he didn't see Johnson's vehicle.
Several witnesses told police Hewitt was traveling in the wrong direction on the one-way street and traveling at a high-rate of speed just before the collision and did not slow down or stop but continued to cross Fifth Street in front of Johnson's Subaru.
Hewitt was not injured, but Johnson complained of hip and pelvis pain and her 12-year-old passenger complained of head pain.
