(WEST BADEN) - West Baden Springs Hotel is now offering in-room doggie dining.
The term "culinary traveler" is no longer limited to humans alone - at least not at West Baden Springs Hotel. The pet-friendly resort is now offering a unique service for their four-legged guests: a gourmet dining option fit for a canine king.
The hotel's new in-room "Doggie Dining" experience is not the run-of-the-mill dog food you'll find at the local supermarket.
While keeping the pets' nutritional needs in mind, hotel chef Ethan Smith began making the meals by using the same ingredients found in some of the favorite entrées among hotel guests.
A pet owner himself, he tested his canine creations on his dog, Budias, and received a tail-wagging seal of approval. If Budias liked it, other dogs would too.
Spoil your dog rotten by ordering the steak or chicken a La Pooch - choose from a 6 oz. sirloin cooked medium rare or a 6 oz. grilled chicken breast topped with pumpkin puree and fresh parsley. For a lighter fare, select a 4 oz. or 8 oz. fish cake consisting of minced fresh salmon and cod blended with steel cut oats, egg and diced mixed vegetables.
The menu also includes a few favorites of some canine guests who frequent the resort. Ask for Moses' Meatloaf (ground turkey, red rice, peas and carrots), Truman's favorite Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Bo's Half Pounder or Scooter's Biscuit du Jour.
"We're happy to offer this extension of our customer service to our four-legged friends," said Smith. "In today's world, pets are considered just like family in many households. When they go on vacation, the owners expect their pets to receive the same travel experience as they would."
West Baden Springs Hotel features 15 pet-friendly rooms in its collection of 243 rooms. If you would like to book a stay for you and your canine companion, call our reservations specialists at (888) 936-9360.
