(BEDFORD) - The city of Bedford Utilities Department plans to continue flushing fire hydrants today.
The flushing will continue through Sept. 19, weather permitting.
The following is a tentative schedule for the flushing of fire hydrants. It is subject to change each day if each day is not completed as scheduled or due to weather conditions.
Customers are cautioned to be careful on or about these days as the water can be muddy/rusty and will be harmful to laundry as far as staining. If the water becomes discolored in your area, let the cold faucets run for a short while and it should clear up.
Today and Thursday:
16th Street west of M Street, including Edgewood Addition, Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital, Bex Addition and Westview Manor.
Sept. 12 and 15:
East of Mitchell Road and south of 16th Street, including Brook Knoll, Glen Meadows, Shandell Drive and Core Nursing Home.
Sept. 16 and 17:
John Williams Boulevard, all of Lincoln Avenue, from 15th and M streets west, and Eighth Street, south to 16th Street.
Sep. 18 and 19:
East of Lincoln Avenue and north of 15th Street.
The schedule is subject to change because of weather and other reasons.
