(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after she allegedly refused to leave Shorty’s Den and became physical with the bartender.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the bar at 11:50 p.m. Monday after a report of a fight in progress.
When officers arrived, the bartender told police that 38-year-old Kristy Fountain was in the bar and had been loud and causing a disturbance most of the night.
"The bartender called last call and that is when Fountain became even more upset and loud cause she didn't want to leave the bar," Parsley says. "She then grabbed the bartender and other patrons had to restrain her."
Police found Fountain outside of the bar at the rear of the building sitting in on the ground.
"The bartender just wanted Ms.Fountain served with a no trespass order, which officers did and then called a family member to come pick her up," Parsley added.
But when the family member arrived, Fountain refused to leave and attempted to enter the bar again and was cursing and continued to disregard officers orders to go with the family member.
"She kept attempting to go back into the bar and was yelling and screaming," Parsley says. "After several attempts to get her to cooperate she was arrested," Parsley says.
Fountain was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
