(BEDFORD) - Mark Vice, Tania Curruchiche, Marty Borrow and The Blessed Hearts are among the musicians comprising the playbill for the gospel gala benefiting Bertha’s Mission.
Bertha's is celebrating its one-year anniversary Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at Bender Banquet Hall.
Tickets are $20 or two for $30. They're available at the mission, Bedford Federal Savings Bank and the Bedford Chamber.
Heather Beasley, promoting the event for Bertha's Mission, says the gala will feature a silent auction which will include IU football tickets, a one-night stay at French Lick Comfort Suites, jewelry, a massage and other unique items.
Stone Cutters Café and Roastery will offer a personalized coffee named after the winning bidder and give the person a free cup every month for a year..
Janice Nickeo, who transformed the eatery Chuck's Soul Food into the mission a year ago, operates the community kitchen. The Bedford Chamber presented her with the 2014 Community Service Award during its recent banquet.
Nickeo says she is thankful to the numerous volunteers who have made the community kitchen a success.
Nickeo is encouraged the community to attend the gala.
